Implant Drill Measurement Stops

Color coded FDA silicone, single use disposable stops. Each color corresponds to the diameter of the implant drills used in preparation of the osteotomy site. The stops are placed on the drill as determined by the operator. Measurements are verified as marked on the drill bit or may be verified using a mm ruler, preferably surgical titanium grade or plastic ruler. In the operating field it may be difficult to visualize the depth markings without the silicone stops. The crest of the bony ridge or the gingiva, depending on the preparation of the surgical site and the size of the implant may dictate placement of the I.D.M.S. Under certain Circumstances, as determined by the operator, a drill extender is utilized in conjunction with a drill bit. Under these conditions, it may be advantageous to employ 2 stops. One is placed on the drill bit to reference the depth of the osteotomy site and the second stop is placed on the shaft of the drill extender. The second stop may be used to reference a tooth adjacent to the site being prepared, such as the incisal edge of the adjacent tooth. The stops may also be used to mark measurements on bone spreading, sinus osteotomes and trephine drills for accurate visualization during use. Steam Autoclave I.D.M.S.’s prior to use*
