Bleaching

Bleaching is a treatment for discolored teeth. There are two methods of bleaching teeth: at-home or in-office treatments. Under their dentist's supervision, the at-home treatment requires patients to place a bleaching agent in their custom fitted tooth tray. Patients are required to wear the tray nightly for 2-3 weeks. However, the in-office treatments take approximately 1 hour. The initial results are immediate in many cases. The dentist will cover your gums and apply a bleaching solution to the teeth. A light is then applied to the teeth in order to activate the solution.

Bonding

Bonding restores teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. This technique restores teeth to their natural appearance. The dentist will apply a bonding fluid on the tooth, place a tooth colored resin onto the tooth, then sculpt and polish the tooth.

Bridges

Bridges are fixed or removable artificial teeth spanning a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch. The teeth adjacent to the area of missing teeth will be prepared for crowns in order to support the bridge.

Cleaning

Cleaning is a treatment done by a dental hygienist. The hygienist removes stains, plaque and tartar from teeth and finishes with a polishing.

Crowns

Crowns are made from a variety of materials that strengthen and protect the tooth structure. There are three types of crowns: a full-porcelain crown, a porcelain fused-to-metal crown and the all-metal crown. Your dentist will discuss and help you decide which type of crown is suitable for you. Crowns are suggested for the following reasons:

      Severe damage from decay

A filled tooth can no longer support the filling

Root Canal - after a root canal, the tooth becomes brittle and requires the protection of a crown

Bridges - when teeth are replaced by a bridge, the adjacent teeth need crowns in order to support the bridge.

Dentures-Full & Partial

Dentures are artificial and removable replacements for missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin. Complete dentures replace all teeth and are custom fitted for each individual, while partial dentures are fitted with clasps to replace a section of missing teeth. With dentures, patients improve their chewing and speech. Dentures also provide support for facial muscles.

Extractions

Extraction is the process of removing teeth. Teeth need to be removed because they are causing pain, swelling, infection, cavities or gum disease. Extractions are usually performed in cases of impacted wisdom teeth, which cause crowding and misalignment of other teeth.

Fillings

Fillings are made up of amalgams (silver) or composites (white fillings). After the decay has been removed from a tooth, the dentist will place the filling into the tooth, harden it and adjust it to your bite.

Gum Disease

Gum disease, known as periodontal disease, is caused by plaque, a colorless film of bacteria, which can harden to form tartar around the teeth. Over time, if plaque is not removed, the tissue that attaches the gums to the teeth will cause the gums to be red and swollen. Eventually, the gums will recede from the teeth and create pockets between the teeth and gums allowing for an increase in plaque build up. To be diagnosed with gum disease, your dentist will have to examine your teeth and gums then measure the space in between them.

Implants

Implants replace a missing tooth permanently. A titanium post is surgically implanted into the jawbone. The post will fuse with the jawbone and after a three to six month healing period, an artificial tooth is screwed to the post.

Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery is performed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. These surgeons specialize in treatment of diseases, injuries and defects associated with the tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons determine the following: bone reconstruction, dental implants, cysts, nerve restoration, and realignment of the jaw bones.

Preventative Dentistry

Preventative Dentistry is a prevention dental health program that is essential to keep teeth clean, healthy and strong. Through regular dental visits, your dentist will clean and examine your teeth, including diagnosis and treatment of early symptoms. Between dental visits, patients can use dental hygiene products and techniques to maintain a healthy mouth.

Root Canals

Root canal treatment is performed when a tooth's pulp (nerve and blood supply) become infected or inflamed. With local anesthesia, the tooth is opened and the pulp and bacteria are removed, leaving an empty pulp chamber. The chamber is filled with a sealant and a filling. The tooth may require additional protection and reinforcement with a crown.

Veneers

Veneers are form-fitted porcelain shells applied to the front of the teeth. Veneers are used to restore teeth due to chips, gaps and stains. The tooth is prepared for a veneer by removing the surface enamel from the front of the tooth. An impression is made of the tooth and a veneer constructed from the impression. The veneer will then be bonded to the front of the tooth, and then shaped and polished.

White Fillings

White fillings are known technically as composites. They are an alternative to silver and gold fillings because of their extreme durability. Composites are made up of a combination of quartz resin and a light sensitive agent and come in different shades in order to match the color of your natural teeth.

Cosmetic Imaging

Cosmetic Imaging is the application of imaging software that displays before and after photos of any planned cosmetic treatment. The dentist will be able to show you what your teeth can look like whitened or straightened without actually performing any dental work.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral Camera involves the use of a camera that is small enough to be placed in a patient's mouth. The camera is attached to a computer allowing the images to be viewed on a computer screen. With these images, dentists are able to save the images for future reference as well as see conditions that are invisible to the naked eye, such as broken fillings, cracked teeth, gum conditions and cavities.

Multimedia Patient Education

Multimedia Patient Education allows dentists to help inform and educate their patients about state-of-the-art dental treatments and the importance of dental health using video.
With entertaining 3D graphics, animation, and photos, patients will be able view and understand dental procedures and alternative options. Patients will be encouraged to ask questions regarding their treatment.

Power Whitening

Power Whitening is a bleaching process that lightens the color of enamel. This type of treatment is accomplished at the dental office. A dental dam will be placed over the teeth in order to protect your gums. Next, a bleaching solution will be applied directly on the teeth and the solution will lighten the color of the patient's teeth. This process will take approximately one hour. In some cases, patients may need periodic treatments.
